Who We Are
We are a group of over thirty Board Certified Anesthesiologists from top-tier institutions bringing a combination of medical expertise, critical thinking, and compassionate care to every patient. Our goal is to provide the safest, most up to date anesthesia care to community members of
Santa Barbara county and beyond.
Anesthesia Medical Group of Santa Barbara was established in 1942 by Charles Betlach, M.D. (1909-2000), a pioneer in the field who was recruited from the Mayo Clinic in 1941 to become Santa Barbara’s first anesthesiologist. Today, the Anesthesia Medical Group of Santa Barbara continues to be an independent physician led, physician owned partnership recruiting from top-tier institutions.
